Lovage is a perennial plant and should last for several years. It is very easy to grow and suitable for large pots or beds. In winter or early spring apply a thick layer of mulch, such as well-rotted manure or garden compost, to help hold moisture in the soil.

How to Plant Lovage

  • Lovage can grow up to 2m tall and 1m across so will need a lot of space to grow.
  • You can grow it in containers would grow better if planted in the ground.
  • Growing in a lightly shaded spot is preferable but they can be grown in full sun.
  • They are best grown in late spring/ early summer.
