Juicy apples for late summer. Good disease resistance
‘Discovery’ is a very popular apple tree to grow at home producing a good crop of dessert apples in late summer. Known for their juiciness, they will keep for a week or so, but are best eaten fresh from the tree. The crisp red from the skin can sometimes bleed into the flesh, so you may see pink streaks when you crunch into one of the apples. They are quite resistant to disease, fully hardy, reliable croppers and make an excellent choice for novice growers.

Number of plants: 1 bare rooted tree for winter planting (approx 1.5m tall)
Variety: Discovery (dessert apple)
Position: Full sun, well draining soil
In the kitchen: This variety is best for eating fresh from the tree, and makes good juice.

Pruning & Growing Information
(for Novice Fruit Growers)
:

This apple tree will benefit from a little pruning in winter (not obligatory) – a growing guide will be provided with your delivery. It is best planted into the ground rather than in pots. It can grow to a full size of 5.5m.

You will get a better crop by planting another apple tree from our range nearby, for cross-pollination.
