Greek Basil (Autumn)

Out of stock

Small leaves, big flavour
Greek Basil has a very tight compact growing habit and forms a perfectly spherical bush with tiny leaves appearing as though having been pruned. Grow this on the kitchen windowsill in autumn for a steady supply of basil leaves – you’ll be able to pick very soon after the plants are delivered.

Number of plants: 3

Variety: Greek Basil (organic*)

In the kitchen: Pinch off small sprigs and add to salads, tomato dishes, sauces and vegetables.

Delivery: These plants can be delivered from September until mid/late October, depending on the season. These plants will arrive in 9cm biodegradable pots. For further info, please see FAQs *Transplants suitable for organic growing.

The right site

Here in the UK, basil is normally more reliable when grown indoors. Choose a nice sunny windowsill or pop a pot in a greenhouse.

Can be grown in....

Pots are ideal for growing basil

How far apart?

25cm apart or one plant to a pot.

Looking after your plants....

Basil is a Mediterranean plant so here in the UK we need to try and recreate this climate to get the best results.

Watering them

Keep the soil a little moist, but don’t overwater. The best time to water them is at noon in bright sunshine (quite the opposite from most plants!)

Pinch off flowers

Pinch off any flowers as they start to form to encourage more leaves to grow.
