Pak Choi (Autumn)

£3.99

Out of stock

Delicious leaves for stir fries and Asian dishes
Pak Choi grows best when planted in early autumn, as it is less prone to bolting at this time of year when it is cooler. Protect it well from slugs, plant in a sunny spot and you should be able to harvest a few as early as November if the weather is good. You will receive a full growing guide along with your plug plants.

Number of plants: 10 plug plants

Variety: Hanakan (organic*)

In the kitchen: Pak Choi can be grown and used as baby leafs in salads or stir fries. These plants can also be grown on to produce mature pak choi for steaming as a whole plant, which is really yummy.

Delivery Info: Available to order now for delivery between September and mid/late October. Please see FAQs for up-to-date delivery info. Planting/Growing Advice: Plant in autumn approx 20-30cm apart in raised beds, traditional veg patches or in pots and planters. Protect against slugs, pigeons and cabbage white butterflies. They are frost tolerant so can be grown outside. When to harvest: Harvest whole once the plant reaches full size in late autumn/early winter, or harvest individual leaves to add to salads. When they go to seed, these plants will produce small yellow flowers and small broccoli-like florets - these are all edible too. *Transplants suitable for organic growing.
