Back in July I added a few more herb plants to the pots outside my front door and now that we’ve had a bit of rain they are doing really very well. The one I am enjoying the most is Lemon Verbena. It’s been a bit of a revelation….just a few sprigs in a mug of hot water and I’m enjoying a really very nice cup of herbal tea. It’s also quite nice to be able to offer guests a real herbal tea in just a matter of minutes.
As you’d expect, you get a lovely lemony flavour, but there are also hints of ginger and chamomile, and it’s so yummy! Lemon Verbena is said to have calming qualities, and to help aid digestion, so to me it is the perfect post-dinner cup of tea.
If you’re growing it in your garden, don’t miss out – make yourself a cup of Lemon Verbena Tea immediately!
