    These brilliantly long French Beans are so easy to grow from plug plants, however they will need full sunshine so make sure you position them well, or you could grow them in a polytunnel/greenhouse. They can be grown in large pots or beds and will need a 2m tall wigwam structure or other bean support to climb. Harvest the yard long beans in late summer. Some say that the beans have a slightly aspargus-like flavour, and in other parts of the world they are called Asparagus Beans.

It is fairly quick growing and should be ready for harvesting in late autumn or early winter.

    Sometimes known as Globe Carrots due to their roundness, this variety is a little different from your standard garden carrot. They are a fantastic addition to the kitchen garden in summer, a good way of plugging gaps where you may have already harvested, and an excellent way of topping up your Vitamin A when you eat them! They will arrive as plug plants ready for you to plant out straight away, can be grown in the ground or in containers and are not particularly fussy about the climate conditions.     It’s so pleasing to pull up a bunch of deep purple carrots from the ground. The flesh is purple too and the colour stays when cooked. This variety is lovely and sweet in flavour, and tends to grow quite long providing the roots are not disturbed. Our plug plants come in biodegradable pots and we would recommend planting them like this to avoid disturbing the roots.     Rubinka is an early maturing variety that produces tasty cherry tomatoes. You can get up to 30 cherry tomatoes on a single truss, making them very pleasing at harvest time!     Decorative and deliciously tasty

    We like this one for a Hallowe’en display with its brilliant knobbly skin! Don’t carve it though as it is a great storer and best eaten in the winter months long after harvesting. The fruits are quite big (around 4-5kg) with vivid orange flesh that roasts well. Cut into chunky wedges and roast with the skin on, then peel when cooked.

    Plant a mini wildflower meadow!
    Hugely popular when we introduced them in 2020, our wildflower plug plants are brilliant for attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinators. There are over 100 different varieties, all annuals which will readily self seed, giving you continual colour for months. They are great for planting in a dedicated patch in the garden, or in a pot/planter for a mini-meadow on your patio!

    Each plug plant will have a cluster of different seedlings emerging, a lucky dip from the list below, and should not be thinned out. This way, you’ll get a fairly natural looking little meadow. For best results, plant the plugs approximately 15-20cm apart. You can fill a planter or pot quite happily with several plugs to each, allowing for at least 15cm per plug.
