    This variety of lettuce is actually somewhere between a butterhead and a crisphead. It has soft outer leaves but with a creamy green heart of a much crispier texture. Buttercrunch will stand well without bolting – a very good option for suntrap gardens.     Freckles is easy to grow from our lovely young plug plants. It is heat tolerant, crisp and bolt resistant. Freckles is unlike any romaine lettuce you will see. It has bright green leaves that look like someone splattered painted burgundy spots all over them! A lovely variety. Growing lettuces from plug plants is easy – you can grow them in pots or beds – just follow the instructions in the growing guide that you will receive with your plants.

    Producing small plants, this lettuce forms a small, tight heart – it is quick growing and will do well planted in between rows of other veggies as it doesn’t need much space.
