    This cylindrical beetroot has smooth skin and dark purple-red flesh. We love it for being so easy to slice, and it is perfect for pots too as it really needs very little space to grow. The roots tend to poke above the soil, but they can be earthed up and will remain in good condition for several weeks until you are ready to harvest them.     Growing carrots is one of the most rewarding things to do in your kitchen garden…there is just something so satisfying about pulling them up and washing off all the soil so that you can cook them. These Nantes Carrots have a lovely sweet flavour. They’re a bit of a classic in the carrot world, and you can expect to get a size around 6 inches out of them. Growing carrots from plug plants is easy – the plants arrive in tiny biodegradable pots and you can simply plant them into well dug soil or containers.     If you think these leaves look a bit like Chrysanthemums, you’d be right – they’re from the same family! Chopsuey makes a fab addition to the veg plot – you can plant them close together, so they are good for pots or beds, and harvest when they reach about 12cm tall by simply cutting across the base of plants as cut & come again. Towards the end of summer, let it flower for gorgeous yellow & white blooms. Pull it up before it seeds.

    Freckles is easy to grow from our lovely young plug plants. It is heat tolerant, crisp and bolt resistant. Freckles is unlike any romaine lettuce you will see. It has bright green leaves that look like someone splattered painted burgundy spots all over them! A lovely variety.     This is a relatively new variety of rocket and has a similar spicy taste to wasabi. It’s a really easy grower.     Mizuna is a cut-and-come-again Oriental salad leaf with deeply cut, spicy flavoured leaves. It is easy to grow and well worth having in your salad patch. Harvest the leaves regularly so that the plant continues to grow for many weeks. If you grow these plants in a slightly shaded spot, they will last even longer without bolting early.
