    Freckles is easy to grow from our lovely young plug plants. It is heat tolerant, crisp and bolt resistant. Freckles is unlike any romaine lettuce you will see. It has bright green leaves that look like someone splattered painted burgundy spots all over them! A lovely variety. Growing lettuces from plug plants is easy – you can grow them in pots or beds – just follow the instructions in the growing guide that you will receive with your plants.

  • Rainbow Chard – Bright Lights

    Colourful, nutrient-rich and delicious

    Rainbow chard will bring a pleasing punch of colour to your veg patch during the colder months. It is a flavoursome and nutrient-rich plant that will produce leaves throughout the seasons. Simply cut off the bigger, outer leaves at the base and more will keep growing. It is easy to grow rainbow chard from plug plants – just plant in raised beds or large containers and follow the growing guide that is provided with the plants.

    When to harvest: Plant plugs 30-40cm apart. Once planted, you should be able to start harvesting the outer leaves of spinach and chard within a few weeks. Keep picking regularly for a continuous crop right through to autumn.

    Easy to grow, full of flavour and plentiful

    This is one of our favourite vegetable plants to grow. Keep it well watered, and plant it in a slightly shady spot. The taste is phenomenal compared to shop bought rocket and it just keeps cropping for months. Cut the outer leaves off as they reach the desired size. Simple. Growing wild rocket from our plug plants is easy – just follow the instructions in the growing guide that is provided with your plants when they arrive.

    This variety is a very popular all season cauliflower which can be set closer together than others to produce tasty small heads and is easier to grow than most other varieties. Firm the plants in well when you plant the plugs, as this will help them to form a firm cauliflower head.     Producing small plants, this lettuce forms a small, tight heart – it is quick growing and will do well planted in between rows of other veggies as it doesn’t need much space.     One of the prettiest lime-green varieties of multi leaf lettuces. It is the shiny-green sister of Lollo Rosso. This variety has extremely frizzy, crinkled and compact leaves.     This is one of our favourites!

    You get really lovely tones of colour on this kale plant as it grows, making it a very attractive addition to your veg patch and of course, it’s super healthy and easy to grow. We’re sure you will enjoy it just as much as we do! Growing kale is very easy from plug plants – just pop them in the ground and keep them well watered. It is best to net them to protect from birds and butterflies, but full growing advice is in the guide included with your plug plants and makes it super simple.

    In the kitchen: Red Russian Kale is the sweetest of the kale types. An incredibly nutritious vegetable, it can be enjoyed steamed, baked in a gratin or used in stir-fries, stews or even smoothies.

    Mizuna is a cut-and-come-again Oriental salad leaf with deeply cut, spicy flavoured leaves. It is easy to grow and well worth having in your salad patch.     A weirdly beautiful cauliflower to grow

    These plants will produce jade green spears which are beautiful and intriguing to look at. They are also delicious to eat! They taste like a mixture between broccoli and cauliflower and can be cooked in much the same way. As with all brassica plants, these are best grown in beds and will need good protection from pigeons and other pests. You’ll receive a full growing guide with your plug plants, so just follow the advice and you’ll find it easy to grow your own romanesco cauliflower.
