Winter Squash – Marina di Chioggia

We like this one for a Hallowe’en display with its brilliant knobbly skin! Don’t carve it though as it is a great storer and best eaten in the winter months long after harvesting. The fruits are quite big (around 4-5kg) with vivid orange flesh that roasts well. Cut into chunky wedges and roast with the skin on, then peel when cooked.

Our new potted bay plants are perfect for those who would like to grow a bay hedge. Plant them approximately 60cm apart and let them grow into a hedge over several years. Thereafter, just water during dry spells until the plants are well established. Spring Cabbage

This is a dwarf variety that can be planted quite close together (25-30cm). When planted in spring you can expect to harvest it from July through to September. Alternatively, plant later and you can harvest later! You can harvest them as delicious, small, tender cabbages or a little later on once the heads have matured.
