Beautiful fruits with a gorgeously sweet flavour
As the Latin name Physalis peruviana suggests, this plant originates from Peru but has become commonly known as the Cape Gooseberry due to its growing popularity in South Africa since the 1800’s.

This plant will grow tall and in July/August produces pretty yellow flowers followed by bright orange fruits that form within a delicate papery pod.
