    Savoy Cabbage – Vertus

    Easy to grow, hardy and delicious
    This variety of savoy cabbage has rounded heads of dark green ruffled leaves that have a more subtle flavour compared to other savoy cabbages, slightly less bitter. It’s a very hardy variety and stands well without splitting. Best grown in beds, but it can be grown in large pots too. Growing from our organic plug plants is easy – follow the advice in the comprehensive growing guide that you will receive with the plants.

    Kohl Rabi – Delicacy Purple

    An unusual addition to the vegetable garden

    Although popular in Europe, Kohl Rabi is not that common a vegetable in the UK. It tastes like a cross between a broccoli stalk and a turnip. Kohl Rabi ‘Delicacy Purple’ is an early maturing purple variety with round shaped stems and good quality, delicate flesh. Harvest once the diameter reaches about 10cm. It is quite easy to grow, and full instructions are included with the plug plants.

    An easy growing, loose-leafed cabbage

    This is a dwarf variety that can be planted quite close together (25-30cm). When planted in spring you can expect to harvest it from July through to September. Alternatively, plant later and you can harvest later! You can harvest them as delicious, small, tender cabbages or a little later on once the heads have matured.
