    The Kalibos Red Cabbage is a lovely addition to the garden, best known for its distinctive red/purple colour and pointed shape. It has a sweet flavour making it great for shredding and adding to salads and slaws. It tends to be slow to bolt, making it a good choice for summer planting. It is fairly quick growing and should be ready for harvesting in late autumn or early winter.

    An easy to grow red cabbage
    This variety will produce a good sized red cabbage that you can feel very proud of having grown yourself! The leaves have a lovely blue tinge, but the hearts themselves are a deep cabbage red. They are great-looking plants in the vegetable garden. Firm them in well when planting and try to keep them cool by watering frequently.     Easy to grow, hardy and delicious
    This variety of savoy cabbage has rounded heads of dark green ruffled leaves that have a more subtle flavour compared to other savoy cabbages, slightly less bitter. It’s a very hardy variety and stands well without splitting. Best grown in beds, but it can be grown in large pots too.     In the kitchen: Shred or cut savoy cabbage into wedges with the hard core discarded. Steam, boil, braise or stir-fry. It especially delicious braised with pancetta and garlic.

    An easy growing, loose-leafed cabbage

    This is a dwarf variety that can be planted quite close together (25-30cm). When planted in spring you can expect to harvest it from July through to September. Alternatively, plant later and you can harvest later! You can harvest them as delicious, small, tender cabbages or a little later on once the heads have matured. A very useful plant to grow if you struggle to get other cabbages to form a firm heart. Our plug plants make it easy to grow, just follow the advice in the growing guide that comes with the plants.
