    These plants are so easy to grow and will produce loads of sugar snap pea pods. They’ll grow to approximately 1.5m tall and will need some kind of support to climb (we often grow them up a chicken wire fence or trellis.) You can plant them fairly close together, at 10cm so they don’t take up a lot of space. They are very easy to grow from plug plants, just follow the advice in the growing guide provided with the plants.

    A fun alternative to butternut squash
    Produces narrow squash with cream/yellow coloured skin and dark green stripes. It looks great in the vegetable garden! We like it as the flavour is not dissimilar to butternut squash – sweet and nutty – but it is a little quicker to mature and ripen. If you’ve struggled to get butternut to ripen, then give this a go instead. Winter squash are easy to grow – they like lots of compost and plenty of water, sunshine and warmth.     These winter squashes can weigh up to 10kg! The skin turns from green to golden as it matures and the flesh is a rich orange colour with an almost nutmeg-like flavour. We love this variety as an alternative to traditional Jack O-Lantern Pumpkins, as it is easy to carve, and the flesh is a little more enjoyable too. Great for pumpkin pies and soups. Growing winter squash from plug plants is easy – just plant in a bed in a sunny site and keep them well watered. You’ll need a bit of space for them to sprawl, or a sturdy trellis for them to climb.     Perfect for a festive harvest
    This traditional variety produces large quantities of medium size, solid sprouts which, if planted in early spring, will crop from October to Christmas. If you plant them later in the year, say June or July, you can expect a crop from December through to February. Sprouts are easy to grow, just remember to earth them up a little to keep them stable on windy days. Harvest them individually from the bottom of the stalk upwards, or pull up a whole stalk.
