    An easy to grow, decorative and healthy kale plant

    This Italian kale has beautiful dark green leaves and looks really striking in the vegetable patch when it’s fully grown. In fact, many people choose to plant it in borders for exactly that reason. It’s easy to grow (easier than many other brassicas) and will provide you with leaves for several months.     Broccoli (Calabrese) – Green Sprouting

    A delicious and easy to grow family favourite

    This is a green sprouting variety of broccoli. After you have harvested the main head of broccoli (the ‘leader’), it will start to produce successive spears for you to harvest. You can either harvest them whilst small and tender or wait until they form a larger head. Use netting to keep butterflies (and therefore caterpillars) at bay! Growing from our broccoli plug plants is quick and easy – just plant them in your garden when your plugs arrive and keep them well watered – a complete growing guide comes with every delivery.

    A space-saving, easy-growing kale
    This is a very popular, compact curly kale that is great for pots (and beds, too!) and requires little attention to produce a good crop. It is exceptionally hardy and grows really well through autumn and winter giving you a nice, constant supply of healthy greens from your garden. You can plant curly kale in spring for use in late summer and early autumn, or plant in summer/early autumn for a winter harvest. Cover with mesh netting to protect from pests.     A truly unique, brightly coloured turnip with an exquisite flavour
    A lovely, sweet flavoured turnip that’ll store well.     This is one of our favourites!

    You get really lovely tones of colour on this kale plant as it grows, making it a very attractive addition to your veg patch and of course, it’s super healthy and easy to grow.     Red Cabbage – Red Drumhead

    An easy to grow red cabbage
    This variety will produce a good sized red cabbage that you can feel very proud of having grown yourself! The leaves have a lovely blue tinge, but the hearts themselves are a deep cabbage red. They are great-looking plants in the vegetable garden. Firm them in well when planting and try to keep them cool by watering frequently.     Savoy Cabbage – Vertus

    Easy to grow, hardy and delicious
    This variety of savoy cabbage has rounded heads of dark green ruffled leaves that have a more subtle flavour compared to other savoy cabbages, slightly less bitter. It’s a very hardy variety and stands well without splitting. Best grown in beds, but it can be grown in large pots too.     Kohl Rabi – Delicacy Purple

    An unusual addition to the vegetable garden

    Although popular in Europe, Kohl Rabi is not that common a vegetable in the UK. It tastes like a cross between a broccoli stalk and a turnip. Kohl Rabi ‘Delicacy Purple’ is an early maturing purple variety with round shaped stems and good quality, delicate flesh. Harvest once the diameter reaches about 10cm. It is quite easy to grow, and full instructions are included with the plug plants.

    An easy growing, loose-leafed cabbage

    This is a dwarf variety that can be planted quite close together (25-30cm). When planted in spring you can expect to harvest it from July through to September. Alternatively, plant later and you can harvest later! You can harvest them as delicious, small, tender cabbages or a little later on once the heads have matured. A very useful plant to grow if you struggle to get other cabbages to form a firm heart. Our plug plants make it easy to grow, just follow the advice in the growing guide that comes with the plants.
